Intermediate Brazilian Zouk Class (Weekly Drop-In)
Thu, Sep 12, 2019 6:45PM -
ONCE YOU'RE COMFORTABLE WITH FUNDAMENTALS, EXPLORE BRAZILIAN ZOUK TECHNIQUE AND PATTERNS
Here is where we start exploring the options and variations that make your dance more complex and creative. Putting together the patterns learned in class and workshops and making them ours is one of the greatest challenges faced by dancers in the intermediate level. In these drop-in classes with Alisson Sandi, we will go over some concepts and tools, as well as teach some social dance friendly combinations that will put your brain and body to work.
Thursdays at DanceSport Dupont Circle
6:45 - 8:15pm
Sept 5 - Oct 24
Each week will bring a new topic or combination, building on what we learned on the previous week and encompassing patterns that we learned in the early stages of our dancing. Topics will include, among others:
● Breaking Novice habits
● Creating and Exploring
● Connecting beyond physical
This class is intended to be for dancers who are at an intermediate level in learning Brazilian zouk. To benefit from this series, you should be comfortable with all the following fundamentals from Level 1, 2 and 3: Basics (Linear and in Place), Lateral, Viradinha, Simple Turn, Soltinho, Abertura, Lateral Opening, Bonus, Raul and Circular Head Movement.
The topics in this class will help you discover new paths to develop your creativity and control of your intermediate foundations. Each class is a stand-alone, as much as we would love to have you every week, it is okay if you need to miss one here and there.
