Brazilian Zouk at DanceSport DC (Weekly Monday Drop-In Class)

WHAT: Brazilian Zouk Lessons (Drop-in)
Level 1 (7:00-8:00pm) Fundamentals w/ Alisson RSandi
Learn the fundamental steps, movements and lead/follow technique in zouk. No experience or partner necessary. Drop-ins are welcome any week. We start a new cycle on the first Monday of every month and cover a full cycle of fundamentals each month.
Level 2 (8:15-9:15pm) Technique & New Moves w/ Alisson RSandi
Aimed at people who have learned the basics and want to take their dancing to the next level, we will focus on lead/follow technique as well as more complex movements and patterns. Prerequisites: dancers should have attended at least one month of Level 1 classes and be familiar with basic steps, viradinha, lateral and turn technique.
Level 3 (7:00-8:00pm) Improver Technique w/ Gui Prada & Jamiel Roberson
Once you have learned Brazilian Zouk's fundamentals, we can start putting together patterns and making them more interesting and refined. We will learn some social dance friendly combinations and some intermediate fundamentals that will put your brain and body to work. Prerequisites: this class is intended to be for dancers who have completed or can execute the fundamentals from Level 1, 1.5 and 2, including: Basics (Linear and in Place), Lateral, Viradinha, Simple Turn, Cuddle, Yo-yo, Soltinho, Abertura, Lateral Opening, Bonus, Raul, and body movement (Waves, Sways and Body Rolls).

COST: Drop-in (cash or Venmo) or DanceSport Class Cards
$15 drop-in for either class (Level 1 or 2)
$25 drop-in for both classes (Level 2 students are encouraged to come early to take the beginner class too)
DanceSport class cards: 5-classes for $65, 10-classes for $120 (class cards cover a single class, and it's $7 extra if you take both classes)

ABOUT DISTRICT ZOUK
District Zouk was founded in 2014 by Amy Abbott, Ashley Kent, Bianca Desroches, and Valentine Luu. All four are friends who came together because of their common love of Brazilian Zouk and commitment to expanding the zouk community in Washington, DC.
District Zouk offers weekly and monthly classes and events in the DC area.
